YOUTH INTERCULTURAL MEETING PLACES IN WROCŁAW LOCAL COMMUNITIES

About the project

The project "Youth in Action - Youth Initiative Incubator" aims to strengthen young people's social engagement by creating a development program that enables young residents of Wrocław to independently design and carry out social initiatives responding to the needs of local communities.

The initiative is addressed to people aged 15-24, including young people with migration experience and young people looking for opportunities for active social involvement. The project responds to the observed need to increase young people's agency and to develop the competences necessary for civic action and co-creating the social life of the city.

As part of the project, participants will take part in a series of workshops preparing them to plan social activities, including teamwork, social communication, the basics of initiative management, and the design of local events. Afterwards, working in teams, the young participants will plan and implement their own social micro-initiatives with the support of Foundation mentors. The process will conclude with a joint closing event presenting the results of the youth activities to the residents of Wrocław.

Schedule

1. Recruitment of programme participants and inaugural meeting
Dates: 01.04.2026 - 30.04.2026
Open recruitment of project participants will be carried out through online information activities (social media, website) and offline outreach (posters, cooperation with local institutions and youth communities). The recruitment process will conclude with an inaugural meeting, during which participants will learn about the project goals, rules of cooperation, and opportunities to implement their own social initiatives. Recruitment will be conducted in line with accessibility principles, including consideration of the needs of people with specific support requirements.

2. Workshops preparing participants to implement social initiatives
Dates: 01.05.2026 - 30.06.2026
A series of workshops will be delivered to develop the competences necessary for planning and implementing social activities. The thematic scope includes, among others: teamwork, social communication, initiative planning, basics of budgeting, and event promotion.

3. Development of youth micro-initiative projects
Dates: 01.07.2026 - 31.07.2026
Participants, working in teams, will develop concepts for their own social initiatives responding to the needs of the local community. The process includes mentoring support, consultations, and refinement of action plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.

4. Implementation of youth social micro-initiatives
Dates: 01.08.2026 - 31.10.2026
Implementation of the social initiatives planned by participants with the support of the project mentor. Activities may include: local events, workshops and educational activities, social campaigns, and integration activities.

5. Closing event "Youth in Action"
Dates: 01.11.2026 - 30.11.2026
Organisation of a closing project event during which participants will present the results of their activities to residents. The event will be a space for exchanging experiences, promoting youth activity, and disseminating the project results.
